Hello, my name is Lauren Contino. I am a animal behaviorist. And have been a lifelong resident on Long Island.
I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. Dogs, and pitbulls in particular, are a favorite four legged friend of mine. It truly crashes my heart when dogs in shelters and euthanized for no reason. The very idea of putting the word "Shelter" out there when so many dogs and cats are actually KILLED in the shelters hurts my heart and soul. I know I am not alone!!
As just one person who cares, I have found it's sometimes hard to make an impact to try and save a dog's life... but I am hoping that this web site can bring us together to do some good in the world, and to make a difference for these dogs.
Did you know it costs approximately $500 to save a single animal? Between fees at the shelter, vet visits, and food, a licensed Rescue person must come out of their own pocket to save an animal. So many Rescue people are unbelievably dedicated, and oftentimes they will deplete their personal bank accounts to the detriment of their own well being in order to save “just one more…”
And that’s where we can help!! You may not be able to physically rescue a dog, or adopt a dog, but we can band together to help Rescuers cover their costs so they can save “just one more” and then “just one more, again”…
Your gift, no matter how large or small, can help save an animal who cannot speak up for themselves. 100% of all of the money donated will go directly to the Rescue, Rescue Shelter's and Sanctuary of a dog today. We want to be able to HELP the Rescue and Rehab professionals save as many animals as possible. I am funding this web site myself, out of my own pocket, because I can. So your donations will be combined with donations from other people… and every time we can fully or partially fund the rescue of a dog, we are making a difference in the world! Your donation will be tracked..so you will know WHO you saved! My goal is to build a coalion of caring people and actually fund Rescuers nationwide!
